Call it “Earthly Mindfulness”

Playa Buye Spring2020

I would like to imagine, that when the masses leave the quarantines, they might be more mindful about their way of life. They might consider driving less and leaving more of the sky unobscured by their fumes. They might consider leaving more space for the animals that share the planet with us. But… that’s just what I would like to imagine.

When you return to “normal”, what will be your normal? Will you make efforts to make better choices? Will you embrace the philosophy of YOLO?

When you finish quarantine, will you be a better cook? Will you be more inclined to buy your food already prepared? Will you have lost weight, or gained it?

Will you spend more time in drive-thru lanes? Will you park and walk into the coffee shop of restaurant more often? Do you aim to get 10,000 steps a day? Did you know you can count those steps?

Will you use the option to order online more often? Will you arrange to pick it up your purchases at the local store? Will you support more local businesses?

Will you choose to shop more locally? Will you look to see where something is made, before you buy it? Will your decision on what to buy reflect where it was made?

Will you pay more attention to how much trash your household produces? Will you try to reduce it? Will you use recycling more? Will you try to buy less? Will you compost?

When the quarantine finishes, will you turn off lights you’re not using? Will you use less energy? Will you pay attention to what you are using? Will you be glad to stop noticing everything you are using?

When you return to a busy life, will you look for more opportunities to work at home? Or will you be more resistant to the idea of working at home? Will you seek out the company of strangers? Will you seek out the company of friends and family?

When you leave the quarantine behind you, will you have changed?
